The 5K (3.1 mile) Run & Walk is a great way for the whole family to take part in the Dexter-Ann Arbor Run! This course features the scenic beauty of Huron River Drive.

There are some serious 5K runners in this event, but there are plenty of joggers, walkers, and families in the field as well.

Staging Area

The event starts at Ann Arbor's Forsythe Intermediate School, located at 1655 Newport Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48103. There is some parking at Forsythe but parking downtown is encouraged. (There is no return bus service to Forsythe after the race.)

Note to wheelers & strollers: Due to the steep hill and dirt/gravel on Bird Road, wheelers are not allowed in the 5K. People pushing strollers must use extreme caution.

Start Time and Location

The race will start promptly at 9:00 AM on Newport Road, very near Forsythe Intermediate School.

Shuttle buses are provided to the starting line

You can park downtown and take a bus to the starting line. See details on the race day busing & logistics page.

Walk to the start? Forsythe is only 1.5 miles from downtown. Consider a walk or warm-up jog to the starting line. (West on Miller, turn right on Newport to Forsythe School at Sunset.)

Field Limit

The 5K Run & Walk is limited to 2000 participants.

Aid Stations

Water will be served at a single aid station, located near the two-mile mark. A "port-a-potty" is available at this aid station.
