HOW DOES THE NEW TEAM CHALLENGE WORK AND HOW DO I REGISTER?

Register on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 12:00 pm (Noon) to 5:00 pm at Skyline High School during the Expo if all races have not sold out. Check the website HERE for information about the limited number of entries or "race caps" for each race.
Packet pick-up is on June 3, 2017 at Skyline High School Expo from 12:00 pm (Noon) to 5:00 pm. Skyline High School is located at 2552 N. Maple Rd., Ann Arbor Twp. 48103
Race Day packet pick-up is at the Ann & Ashley Parking Deck downtown, (located at Ann St. and Ashley St.) from 5:45 am to 8:30 am.
It IS permissable to have someone else pick up your Bib for you !
There is NO packet pick-up at any race starting location
WHERE CAN I PARK ON RACE MORNING?
There are numerous lots and parking decks in downtown Ann Arbor. For a map showing the locations, click here . The race activity is located in the area of the Ann & Ashley Parking Deck.
WHEN SHOULD I BE DOWNTOWN ON RACE MORNING?
We recommend that all participants plan to be downtown by 6:45 a.m. to find parking near the start/finish area. We strongly suggest that all half-marathon participants be on a shuttle bus to the start in Dexter no later than 7:30 a.m. The busses will run until all half-marathon participants get to Dexter, but they have maximum capacities and if everyone arrives at 7:15 a.m., some people may need to wait and will be cutting it close to get there before the race begins at 8:30 a.m. The ride to Dexter takes about 25 minutes.
ARE THERE SHUTTLE BUSES AVAILABLE TO GET TO THE STARTING LINE?
Yes. There are shuttles to the half marathon. (The 5K and the 10K starts in downtown AA)
The buses line up on Ashley between Miller Street and W. Huron Street as follows:
Half Marathon - 6:00am to 7:45am (Half starts at 8:30am)
THERE ARE NO RETURN SHUTTLES AFTER THE EVENT.
WHERE IS THE START FOR THE 5K, 10K, AND HALF MARATHON
The Half Marathon start is at: Creekside Intermediate School, 2615 Baker Drive, Dexter. The 5K and 10K races both start in downtown Ann Arbor on North Main Street near Kingsley. NO BUS RIDE is required for this race!
If you arrange to be dropped off at the start, be sure to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to the start due to crowds and slow traffic.
IS THERE A BAG DROP OFF AREA FOR RUNNER'S GEAR?
Yes. The bag drop off area for the 5K and the 10K is in the Ann & Ashley parking deck, near the Registration area. For the Half Marathon, the drop off area will be at the start area.
Small plastic bags are provided at the staging areas for each race. You may also use your own athletic bag. Your name and bib number must be clearly printed on the bag. Do not leave valuables, breakable items or car keys in the bags. The AATC is not responsible for lost or stolen items from clothing bags.
Pick up for all bags is in the Ann & Ashley parking deck. For more details see "Clothing Bag Protocol" in the "Rules of the Road" in the GENERAL INFORMATION section on our Home Page.
CAN I TRANSFER TO ANOTHER RACE?
Yes. There is a $5 charge to transfer races, and additional fees if you transfer to a race with a higher fee.
Transfers are available through May 30th at 8:00pm by sending us an eMail to: firstname.lastname@example.org .
Please eMail us the First Name, Last Name, ZIP Code and what event you want to transfer FROM and TO.
The last time to transfer races is at the Expo on June 3rd between NOON and 5:00pm.
If you wish to transfer from the 2017 event to next year's 2018 event due to unforeseen circumstances, the deadline
for those transfers is May 15th, 2017.
WHAT ARE THE DATE, LOCATION, AND TIME OF THE EXPO?
The Expo will be at Skyline High School on June 3rd from 12:00 pm (Noon) to 5:00 pm.
ARE CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED AT THE EXPO?
Credit cards may be used to register for the Dx-AA. Vendors at the Expo may not accept credit cards.
IF I REGISTERED BUT CAN'T PARTICIPATE, CAN I TRANSFER MY RACE NUMBER TO SOMEONE ELSE?
Yes. Go to the "Registration" table at the Expo. The transfer must be for the same race in which you are registered. There is no charge for the transfer.
No transfers are permitted on race day
IF I REGISTERED BUT CAN'T PARTICIPATE, CAN I LET SOMEONE ELSE USE MY NUMBER WITHOUT TRANSFERRING IT?
No. To maintain the integrity of the race results, all participants must be officially entered. You can transfer your number to someone else free of charge at the Expo on Saturday, June 3.
Overall Male, Female and Masters are presented after the completion of each race (see schedule on website).
Age group results are posted on the wall of the Washtenaw County Court House, located on Main and Ann Street.
Results will be posted shortly after most participants have finished each race. Updated postings will be made continuously.
Age group awards are handed out at the Awards Tent in the Liberty Title parking lot, located on Main across from the Washtenaw County Court House. Check the postings, and If you are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th in your age group, come to the tent to pick up your award.
IS THERE A MEDICAL TENT?
Yes. A staffed medical tent is located on Main Street near the Washtenaw County Court House. In addition, First Aid workers will be on the courses and downtown to assist anyone with a medical problem.
IS IT PERMISSIBLE TO RUN WITH A STROLLER OR PET DOGS?
Baby buggies are allowed only on the5K course. Plan to start at the end of the pack of runners at the start line. Please take extra caution to insure the safety of other runners, yourself and your child.
Pet dogs are NOT allowed on the course
ARE HEADPHONES (IPODS, MP3 PLAYERS, ETC.) ALLOWED ON THE COURSE?
For your safety, and that of other runners, we strongly discourage using these devices during a race.
However, they are allowed and we urge you to be very cautious of those around you and all activity on the course.
ARE THERE PACERS ON THE COURSE?
Yes, but pacers will be available only for the Half-Marathon. Look for the pace per mile signs in the starting area. Pacers will be near those signs.
WHEN AND WHERE IS THE KIDS RACE?
The Kids Race will be held at 3:00 pm on June 3rd at Skyline High School. Registrations are accepted up until 2:45 pm. Registration is $12 on race day and $12.00 online. For more information go to the “Race Info” tab and look towards the bottom of the page.
WHERE ARE PORTA-JOHNS AND WATER LOCATED?
Water, Gatorade and porta-johns are available in the downtown area for the 5K and10k runners, at the start areas of the half marathon race. Water, Gatorade and porta-johns are provided on all race courses and at the finish area.
WHY DOES THE HALF MARATHON START SO LATE AT 8:30 AM?
Amtrack! There is a train that is scheduled to leave Ann Arbor at 7:50 am every Sunday morning. The train crosses the Half Marathon course at 2 points between AA and Dexter. Sometimes the train has crossed in Dexter as late as 8:20 am. The 8:30 am start is as early as we can make it. If and when Amtrak changes the schedule, we will adjust accordingly.
WHAT IS THE TYPICAL WEATHER ON RACE DAY?
For the first week in June, the average temperature range is 55º to 73º, clear skies and 75% humidity with a 5 mph breeze.
However, it is possible to have humidity approach 100%, a high temperature hit 95º along with no wind. Obviously, we all hope for cool weather BUT we are prepared this year with extra water, cups, aid stations, ice and medical assistance.
If the heat index exceeds 75, slow your race pace & hydrate more
HOW DO I OBTAIN A REFUND?
There will be NO REFUNDS. If you registered for the event, this means we HAVE PLANNED FOR YOU TO BE THERE.
If you cannot make it to the event, you can transfer your registration to the DX-A2 event in 2018. However, the transfer MUST be completed by May 15th, 2017.
