Elite Runners
If, since January 1, 2011, you have achieved a time equal to or better than the minimum standards (see table below) on a certified course at any of the three DxA2 race distances, you are eligible for elite runner status and a complimentary entry into the Dexter-Ann Arbor Run. To achieve elite runner status and register as an elite runner, you must do the following:
- Send an e-mail to the Elite Athlete Coordinator. Include the following information: name, age, gender, DxA2 race selection, qualifying time, and qualifying race and date.
- The Elite Athlete Coordinator will verify your qualifying information, and will then award you a place on the elite athlete complimentary list. You will be notified by e-mail of your placement on the list, or if there are any issues with your elite status. (If for any reason you do not receive this e-mail within 2 weeks of your initial e-mail, it is suggested the you follow up with a second e-mail to the DxA2 Race Director.)
- In the confirmation e-mail from the Elite Athlete Coordinator, you will be given a coupon code to use when you complete your on-line registration and are asked for payment information. If you enter the correct coupon code, you will be allowed to register for the race of your choice without charge.
- Prior to the race, you will be sent an e-mail and asked to confirm your intention to participate in the race for which you have registered.
- You will be awarded a race number, race bib with chip, and a T-shirt free of charge. You must pick up these items at the Expo prior to the race or downtown on the morning of the race.

Notes:
Expo:Elite entries at the Expo will not be allowed.
Drug Testing:All elite athlete entrants and the top 3 open and masters race finishers (of each race) may be subject to a supervised USADA drug test directly after the race at the discretion of the race director and/or the AATC. If a test is requested and refused, the runner will be disqualified and listed as such in the results, with no awards given, and a report will be issued to the RRCA.
AATC decline privilege: The AATC reserves the right to decline the application of any applicant for any reason. If such a refusal is deemed appropriate, the athlete will be notified. All decisions of this nature are confirmed by the race director before notification is made to the athlete and as such are final, and there is no appeals process.
Note to foreign athletes: Organizers of the Dexter-Ann Arbor Run have chosen to support local athletes with the prize money. Consequently prize money will not be awarded to athletes who are not citizens of the United States. Athletes who are not United States citizens are welcome to participate and may be awarded complimentary entries, but they will not be awarded prize money.
Note to agents: No winnings from any athlete will be awarded directly to an agent, either at the race or afterwards. All payments MUST be made directly to the winning athlete, either in person, or to their mailing address. All checks will be made out to the athlete’s name, not to the name of an agent or corporation.
Prize Money and Bonuses
In addition to a complimentary entry, elite runners may set their sights on the prize money for the Half Marathon and the bonuses offered for new course records in all three events.
