SUSTAINABILITY AT DEXTER-ANN ARBOR RUN

Every year the Dexter-Ann Arbor Run draws thousands of runners and cheering crowds through Dexter, Scio, and Ann Arbor, ending in downtown Ann Arbor with post-race food and celebratory beverages. Happy Planet Running has provided Zero Waste services at this race since 2018, and this year composted or recycled 99.4% of the waste generated, including cardboard, paper cups, food waste and specialty items. In the end, only a single 10-lb bag of trash went to the landfill out of nearly one ton of waste.
